Guwahati Railway Station Gets Mall-Like Upgrade with ₹2.27 Crore Terminal Project

Guwahati Railway Station has opened The Terminal, a mall-like facility offering food, shopping and entertainment. Discover how the ₹2.27 crore project aims to improve passenger amenities and generate non-fare revenue for Indian Railways.

Mumbai local train services will face disruptions on Sunday, October 25, 2026, as Central Railway and Western Railway carry out scheduled maintenance work on their respective routes. The mega block will affect fast train services on the Central Line, Harbour Line services between Kurla and Vashi, and several suburban and other trains on the Western Line, requiring passengers to plan their journeys around revised schedules.

On the Central Line, Central Railway will operate a mega block on the UP and DOWN fast lines between Matunga and Mulund from 11:05 am to 3:45 pm. During this period, several fast trains will be diverted onto slow lines, potentially delaying commuters travelling across the affected section.

DOWN fast line services departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 10:36 am and 3:10 pm will be diverted onto the DOWN slow line between Matunga and Mulund. These trains will stop at their scheduled stations and may reach their destinations around 15 minutes behind schedule.

Similarly, UP fast line services departing from Thane between 11:03 am and 3:38 pm will be diverted onto the UP slow line between Mulund and Matunga before returning to the fast line. These services may also be delayed by around 15 minutes. The Khopoli-CSMT local, scheduled to depart at 1:48 pm, will instead leave at 2:06 pm.

DOWN Harbour Line services towards Vashi, Belapur and Panvel departing from CSMT between 10:34 am and 3:36 pm will remain suspended. UP services towards CSMT departing from Panvel, Belapur and Vashi between 10:17 am and 3:47 pm will also be suspended.

To maintain connectivity during the block, special local trains will operate between CSMT and Kurla and between Panvel and Vashi. Harbour Line passengers will also be permitted to travel via Thane, Vashi and Nerul between 10 am and 6 pm. Trans-Harbour and Uran Line services will continue to operate according to the Sunday schedule, with no block announced on these routes.

On the Western Line, Western Railway will undertake a block on the UP and DOWN lines at Saphale station from 7:20 am to 9:50 am to commission a new crossover at Saphale Yard. A complete traffic block on both lines will remain in force from 9:05 am to 9:50 am.

The maintenance work will result in the full cancellation of five trains, including select Dahanu Road-Virar, Dahanu Road-Borivali, Boisar-Vasai Road, Virar-Dahanu Road and Churchgate-Dahanu Road services. The Dombivli-Boisar MEMU will be partially cancelled between Vasai Road and Boisar.

Four other trains, including select Churchgate-Dahanu Road locals, a Borivali-Valsad MEMU and a Dahanu Road-Churchgate local, will be delayed by 30 minutes.

With maintenance blocks affecting multiple sections of Mumbai's suburban railway network on Sunday, passengers travelling on the Central, Harbour and Western lines are advised to check official railway updates and revised train schedules before leaving home to avoid disruptions to their journeys.
